Searching - I recently refinished a large cast iron pedestal lavatory similar to the one in the picture. Unfortunately, the faucet was in disrepair. The center hole has 2 small holes flanking it and I have not been able to find a faucet new or old that will cover the holes. I need to find one that will work. Please give me any advice that you have to help end this search. The refinisher told me that he can fill the holes but He could not guarantee that it would look good. It is a beautiful and very old family treasure that I would love to put to use. Thanks »
Design For Less I have to say that this sink and faucet combination are original to the home and just needed some polishing up. If we had taken it apart, I was afraid it would fall apart- it didn't leak so we decided to keep them as is. Depending on where you live, we have a local source in Maine that deals with specialty hardward, etc. that you may reach out to. I'm sure they could help/work with you via email and/or phone. They carry an amazing selection of items that is ever changing. Give them a try.
Design For Less They are thin sheets of luan that my contractor and I had to glue onto the lower walls. The walls are old plaster and it had been scored to look like subway tile. The luan was the best solution to restore it to a period look. It can be duplicated though by just using a high gloss trim paint below any chair rail. I've done that before on sheetrocked walls and one can't tell the difference.
Design For Less Sorry! The tile is Carerra marble is in a Versailles pattern in normal-sized sheets for easier installation. I source it locally but several distributors should also be able to get it for you.
charlotteann to aiserin -- The wallpaper is in the Chelsea Collection and it's actually called Joli Trail ~~ you can search for either on the Thibautdesign.com website. Beautiful wallpaper, I agree
