Christopher A Rose AIA, ASID We are discussing the wall treatment where there is a small narrow trim board a "batten" that covers the vertical joint of the wide trim board creating a casual cottage feel to a room.
Cynthia Taylor-Luce I can't tell if the walls are an actual colour or if they're reflecting a pale tone from the rest of the room! But I think you'd get a lovely effect with Pittsburgh Paints 407-1 WHITEWATER (a whispery soft pale green) with trim and ceiling painted 520-1 GYPSUM. This would make a beautiful combination with the pale blue and soft lavender fabrics featured here.
What is the type of baseboards? - I would like to do a board and batten treatment for my daughters room and wanted to go about 2/3's of room up the wall and finish with a flat straight trim but i want to use the existing baseboards that have a more curved profile. not sure how this would look? »
Cynthia Taylor-Luce As I mentioned in your other post, I would change the baseboards. They don't even need to be shaped--they could be rectangular pieces of wood that serve as a support to the wainscotting.
Christopher A Rose AIA, ASID You have to be careful with the in and out of the board and batten a square baseboard actually does look better. Then the base board can be flush with the battens.
