Where is the basin in this bathroom? - Hi, first off, this is an awesome bathroom with exquisite finishes, however I can't see a hand basin in this photo. With your great use of space I was hoping there might be another photo of this bathroom showing the basin in contrast with the shower, or even the bath so I could gauge the overall feel of the room. Is there another photo, or could you explain where the basin is please?
Thanks for any help. »
thirdstone inc. [^] There is no window in the shower. That's the reflection of the window over the tub. Window manufacturer is local but you can basically get this type from most window suppliers - i.e. metal-clad on wood frame.
where can you purchase the glass wall from in zip 46619 - Am re-doing a very small bath --need a glass wall approximately 34" wide by 8' high. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Want bathroom to look bigger. Also, should I use a large tile for the floor--that area is 5x5. Any suggestions. Thank You --Vickie »
thirdstone inc. [^] Hi vickie - We're from Edmonton, Canada so i don't know what's available in your area. Firstly find a glass shop that specializes in custom framelss glass showers. They'll be able to help.
The tiles in this photo are porcelain tile, stack bond pattern with a tuscan leveling system. This setting system allows you to have very thin grout joints. I highly recommend all tile done this way whether on floors or walls (especially showers). http://www.tuscanleveling.com/
Lisa A As a DIYer, I used the Tuscan Leveling System. Expensive, but it works awesomely. I had 18x18 tiles. A tile guy I hired to do basement area did a great job too without any leveling system, but had 12x12 tiles. Where four corners meet is the hardest, maybe a brick pattern wouldn't be so noticeable, but something like this in a large format needs to be flat.
Lisa A so you'd have to find a very specific tile that has a finished edge on the side or at least looks good from the side (many don't). Schluter makes lots of edging that might work too (in lieu of a bullnose or unattractive side of tile).
dong_jason Thank you for the close up! I'm facing the same situation that there is no matching bullnose to the 12x24 tile I want for shower wall. I have concern about using the finished edge on shower niche. Is the edge of the tile water proved? Will the water penetrate into the tile from the edge?
Wondering about the rest of the layout and dimensions of bathroom. Could you help me with that? Thanks! - Have a 6x13'2" space that I would like to work a separate shower/tub into. »
Further to my previous posting and for your interest, here's a rendered elevation of one of the vanity sinks...(don't have a pic other than the close up photo of the back-splash - below)
Lovin' the TILE/Stone - I have a question: Is this tile slippery? I usually make the stone smaller on the walking surface of a bathroom so someone doesn't fall and break their neck, but I do prefer the longer width. So I am hoping it has a rougher surface. »
A charcoal tile bathroom with cedar wood for the shower floor is one of the most stunning spaces in the house. The wood slats sit above tile and can easily be removed to clean beneath.
