The owners of this Winchester Victorian knew their dark, dated kitchen (complete with red-tiled floor and old wooden cabinets) did not measure up to the rest of their well-appointed, period home. They asked Feinmann to improve the functionality and beauty of the kitchen without changing the existing footprint, add new storage and counter space, and create a spot for casual dining.
The end result is a classic design, combining white, green, and wood tones. Off-white cabinets and crisp crown molding create a striking contrast to the 5” mahogany floorboards, and various green-colored accents throughout the room tie the space together visually. These include green granite counter tops, small green accent tiles arranged in a band and nestled among white subway tiles for the backsplash, and light sage wall color. The existing wood stove was replaced with a grand wood-burning fireplace, giving the room an entirely new look.
The decision was made very early on to remove a wall between the kitchen and a separate pantry, to visually open up the kitchen. Two wall ovens and a microwave now occupy that former pantry space. An island at the center of the kitchen provides for additional work surface and a place for casual seating. Under-cabinet lights improve functionality and angled recessed spotlights draw attention to the room’s striking fireplace.
Lori Sylvester Because you can not see the strings of a pleated shade and with out being able to zoom in on the pic, I would say these are cellular shades, with top down, bottom up option. Hunter Douglas is one of the best manufactures of such shades, but they are available from many manufacturer.

These need to be replaced if you want to add value — new hardware won't be enough to fix them.
