Wall board name - May i know whats is the wall board name? I think that original board already have holes like that right? this is great idea, so we will not nail or make holes on our wall. »
kimmcmullen It's a pegboard. You can get them at a home improvement warehouse store, but you'll need to paint it yourself. Ask the folks at the paint counter what they recommend, but I just lightly sanded mine, then painted and the paint went on great.
The Vintage Glitter House Table was left by the previous home owner. You could make something similar by laying a hollow core door, painted, across file cabinets or whatever you have. Lowes has the doors for about $30 each.
We tried this..this week, using volunteers. The pegboard soaked up the paint and the colors are blotchy. What was your painting procedure/paints, please. We are a Boys & Girls Club. I'd also like to know where you purchased such unique holders for the pegboard. »
netiele like i said it was accidental LOL light sprays its painfully slow but you should get it done in a few days Im too lazy for primmer lol I have 5 kids and not much time ..I just finished spray painting a book shelf and it looks really great but you can also see where I lost patience and ended up with runs ...Im thinking a tie die effect will look awesome have all my kids point and shoot (outside) and see what we get kids will love to do that :) I will update with a pic when i get the chance still working on my first ever decoupage hehehe
To paint pegboard, you need to prep the surface before applying paint. For easier application, we recommend spraying the primer and topcoat. For the primer. you can use our KILZ Original Aerosol which is a terrific stainblocker and excellent base coat for latex or oil-based paint. Make sure the coverage is relatively even, not drippy or gunky (a little unevenness could be resolved with the topcoat). Allow the primer to dry and then apply your preferred top coat. You can purchase a spray paint or for more color options, you can purchase an inexpensive spray gun kit like Preval Sprayer 267. Reduce waste: Kid's play areas and desks are a primary spot for wasting supplies. Try organizing crafts, writing utensils, and small school supplies in easy to find containers. The easier it is to put things back, the less likely the kids will lose them. That saves money and needless new supplies.
Combine a tool wall with your inspirations. Pegboard is handy for hanging tools and supplies as well as inspiring images. Use bulldog clips to hang images from pegboard hooks.
Drawing, painting and coloring — kids love art projects, and parents don't like the mess. Keep art projects organized by designating an area or desk. The turquoise peg board adds a pop of color and allows for supplies to be hung neatly. (Click on photo to see product tags.)
Equip the space with the appropriate supplies. This will keep your kids from wandering to your storage closet to “look for crayons,” only to escape to the swing set when your back is turned.
It doesn't have to be fancy. A good craft room just has to be organized and offer a little surface space. A painted pegboard and some containers are a good start. See how to set up a workshop
