Kasper Custom Remodeling, LLC It should be a minimum of 36" for a "one cook" kitchen. 42" - 48" is the recommended distance for multiple chefs. The extra space allows two people to easily access all areas of the kitchen at the same time with out crowding or bumping into each other.
Carolina V. Gentry, RID They look like flat flush subway tiles to me. If you are looking for a beveled subway tile check this one out with a slight crackle. Rebekah Zaveloff From this other close-up picture, I really think it's a solid surface material like Corian or possibly Caesarstone. The opposite wall with the bar sink looks like Cararra marble though.
