What is your opinion on not tiling half way up in a main bathroom that is used all the time? That is just tiling the floor and tub area and painting the rest. I'm the person with the low ceiling. Thank you. »
is the wall height shorter than 8 feet in this bathroom?
Also, what size are the tiles? My main bathroom has 7'4" walls and I am wondering if a smaller tile such as these would work better than a 3 x 6 subway tile. I want to tile half way up to 42 inches. »
Anne DeCocco You're taking a short wall and cutting it in half, so that might not be your best option. Consider something else, like using the subway tile and turning it on it's side so that it draws the eye upward. Or another tile that has some striations in it and do the same thing. I've seen many pretty examples in the tile stores lately. Draw the eye up!
danaperez Thank you. This web site has been incredibly helpful. I'm about to renovate and add on to my 1940's colonial. I love this look for my formal powder room. I wont have a shower so my idea is panels half way down instead of tile, with a more traditional looking vanity similar to is one. I found one on pb website, newport style and I'm having someone build it in better wood and quality, unless you have a suggestion where i can find it. For the floor, my two options were your suggestion of even wood. Any thoughts. Thanks again.
