Perched atop a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this new residence adds a modern twist to the classic Shingle Style. The house is anchored to the land by stone retaining walls made entirely of granite taken from the site during construction. Clad almost entirely in cedar shingles, the house will weather to a classic grey.

How do you get up to the roof deck (and how is water drained from deck entry)? Thanks »
Siemasko + Verbridge Thanks for your questions! You access the windows peak through a roof hatch and movable ladder from the interior. The water drains from the other side through a scupper.
Sitting atop a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this new-construction home in Manchester, Massachusetts, proves that widow's walks are back. I LOVE THE HOUSE
Could we expand from our house with a concrete(?) porch from the front door, removing the deck, and take the design also down to the parking area to help in having an ADA-accessible home? The grade is steep and granite boulders and trees are present.
