Sconce problem - Hi,
Hope you can help. I purchased the campaign scones from restoration hardware similar to these. Once my contractor installed them, I noticed two problems. When the bulb is on, the wire that hooks the shade to the bulb creates an ugly shadow showing thought the shade, which was the recommended shade from restoration hardware also and the bulb that came with the sconce. Also, one shade won't sit straight no matter what I do.i contacted restoration hardware but don't think they care frankly. Can you tell me how come the ones in this picture don't exhibit these problems? Would a lower wattage or frosted bulb help perhaps? Do I need to now purchase better quality shades elsewhere? Thanks for any and all input - the overall look in the bathroom is just what I was hoping for so this little glitch is quite an annoyance. »
One Call Property Services For waterproofing the real work needs to be done before any tile is even installed. If however the tile is already installed and you are looking to mitigate any further damage then a good sealer is definitely the way to go. Also make sure you caulk all inside corners with a good silicone based caulk. When using marble etc it is probably best to use clear.
sincerleighyours I have this marble tile in my shower. After 5 showers I noticed that a few tiles were turning dark. So I called tile co. to ask if they had sealed it. they said that they had. I re-sealed it anyway. Then I still saw more tile turning dark. I have sealed the tile more times than I have had showers. I,m at a loss as to why. I just know that the tile will blame me for it turning. So I have not called them back. Any reason why it could be doing this?
