The trencher and jack-hammer helped us dig out the base of our fire pit. We wanted to make sure that once we got rock at the base and wood inside it, the fire would still be deep inside the firepit so we could place a grill grate over it and be able to cook up some BBQ.
We used garden edging and wooden stakes to make the round mold for the cement. In all honesty, I love that we dug down to make it deep for what we wanted, but I think trying to figure out how to get the cement mold right and everything was the biggest pain (and beating out 1618 lbs of a sandstone puzzle is a pretty big pain).
