I'm not sure about GFCI protected switches but there are combos with a switch and a GFCI outlet in one. You may be able to protect the switch with a GFCI outlet up the line somehow. Please do consult with a licensed electrician, though!!

John Whipple - By Any Design ltd. Sound advice @6. No switches should be anywhere near the shower's wet zone. A distance of 3' or one meter is required here in Canada but with the over spray a distance of 4.5'-5' would be safer.

Bathroom GFI's and Floor Heating GFI's should all be checked on a regular basis.

Alex hmm, im having a tough time figuring out how mount a floating mirror so that there is no visible hardware coming through the face of the mirror. ..

a couple of glaziers have suggested using four pegs that go through the glass but endcaps would be visible on the face of the glass and ive also been suggested to fabricate a rectangular wood box to fasten via heavy screws into studs in the wall and have the glass panel glued onto the face of the wooden box but was also warned of a risk of the glass not being very secure with that method.

could you possibly enlighten me on your interlocking bracket method as it sounds like the most durable way to mount a floating mirror without having visible hardware?

At-Six Architecture The mirror is glued to the face of a wood box with a small L-track at the bottom (carrying the weight of the mirror). The box is attached to a bracket mounted onto the wall with set screws at the top and bottom recesses.

Jacob I've just been to DWELL in LA and saw the TRUFIG product there. I was absolutely blown away by it! Lutron has covers that don't look too bad … however what can they do to match the aesthetic beyond their own products? TRUFIG can accommodate not only Lutron, but also Leviton, AMX, Crestron, Apple, Sonance, and even generic HVAC grilles. Surely you want all of your technology to match … not just the devices from one manufacturer? For example the TRUFIG guys were saying that their HVAC grilles have been designed to be the same size as the speaker grilles; allowing consistent sight lines across a wall or ceiling. I realize TRUFIG isn't a mass-market product, however it does deliver a no-compromise result beyond anything else I have seen available. I like it!

barrychameleon I think the comparison below really shows the advantage of TRUFIG vs. regular devices that have been faux painted. Even the most elegant and color matched outlet (like the products bepsf is talking about) still stick off the wall and create those ugly shadow lines.

Paul Anater It depends on the size of the room but it helps to have as large a pitched area as you can get.
