Here are my general rules, but it's totally up to the person sleeping in the bed!
For me, 5 (two regular, two shams, and one decorative pillow) for a queen-size is my limit. 4 stacked (two on each side) looks great too.
In the end, it depends on how much you mind stacking your pillows in the morning, putting decorative ones away before bed, then bringing them back out the next day. Sometimes life’s just too short, you know? But if you love the look of a mound of pillows and don't mind schlepping them out each day to make the bed, then go for it!
I luv the dark brown carpet with the organic tree look and would like to purchase it - particularly if you got it in NY. Can you please tell us where this could be purchased. »
White walls. While I love a wide range of paint colors and dark tones on walls, lately I've been drawn to the freshness white walls bring to a design. In this bedroom the white walls are brought up a notch by hanging a wallpaper with a white background behind the bed.
Do you remember the teacher pulling roller shades at nap time? Me neither, but I imagine them to be a great for room darkening and privacy. Utilitarian in nature, you barely recognize the roller shades in this elegant bedroom.
Again, the one accent wall strategy works well in a tight bedroom, and a few accent pillows punch up the light colored bedscape palette. Extra storage is cleverly provided in a nook that is aligned with the windows — no floorspace-hogging bulky bookcase required.

7. The wallpaper feature wall. If you're looking for a bit more oomph for your small bedroom, a single wall of patterned wallpaper behind your bed might just do the trick. Go minimal on the linens and glam it up a bit with a Murano-style chandelier, or something even more bold and colorful.
Accent the positive. This bedroom is part of an open loft, so Valerie Pasquiou was looking to give it a bit of a cozy feel and some softness by bringing an "un-overwhelming accent wall into the room with a hint of femininity," she says. "The overall idea was also to keep a light and crisp, fresh feel to the room."The wallpaper is from Elli Popp in London.
Great use of accent color with just a few books, wallpaper on the one wall, and pillows - amazing how it pops in an otherwise very light, neutral setting
