bcbeaker I love your kitchen and want to do something very similar to mine. What is the blue color on the walls and what did you use to paint the cabinets or did they come like that. Sorry I don't know if this is the new or the old look, but I love the light blue tones, as you have on the wall, and want to do something for a backsplash - I saw some tiles in a pale blue that were glass. I do not like too many bright colors as I want a calming affect and am trying to do my whole condo kind of a shabby chic..not too too shabby. The condo is very dark so I want to brighten it up but do not want to have any bright colors. My favorite colors are the white of course, as well as a pale blue and pale yellow. I have purchased a few pieces of older furniture that have been painted white and just slightly distressed on all of the corners. It is just what I want for the rest of our condo, but it is a slow project as we are retired and do not have a lot of money to put into it. The cabinets in the kitchen are dark wood and what makes it difficult is that they have an aluminum square bar across the bottom of the cabinets, so if removed the bar, the cabinets would be too short and there would be a gap of an inch or two along the bottom of each cabinet and also across the top of each drawer. Guess they are to be used as drawer pulls. I will send some pictures to see what can be done to achieve the effect you have in your kitchen. I'm hoping I can do something to the cabinets without having to buy all new doors because they are over $100 each to get new and then I would have to still refinish them or pay someone to do it. Your kitchen has inspired me, as I cannot think up these ideas on my own, but if I see something I like, then I can know ahead of time what it would look like. Thanks for your inspiration!

Teresa Oyler I was looking at those ovens. It is a GE Profile Single/Double oven. The top one is perfect size for a cookie sheet or a casserole dish. The bottom oven is bigger, but not as large as a normal size oven.
