Border Stone - I love the floor and wall tile choices for this bathroom. I have been able to find all tiles aside from the thin border tiles. Do you recall the stone used? How about the size (ie 1x6)? Do you know maker or were they special cut? Thanks in advance! »
Hanson General Contracting, Inc. I'm sorry, that's not something I could find in our files, but you should be able to get a similar color by showing the photo to a tile setter.
Toilet and light - What is the make and name of the toilet? Also, I would like to know the name and manufacturer of the light above the sink.
Thanks! »
What kind of paint did you use the to paint the underside of the tub and sink? - Did you use a regular semigloss or some particular type of paint that works well on cast iron? thanks! »
thebuilderdepot.com I am not certain where these floor tiles came from, but I can help with the size and another option. These are 5" Carrara Hexagon Mosaic. We have a very similar product $13.95 a sheet. http://www.thebuilderdepot.com/cabian5x5hexhon.html
mihikatahdin I noted, with interest, the picture of your Lab lying on the dining room table, and the remark about her two hip surgeries. I assume your pup had Hip Displasia (sp) and my two Labs both have it as well. If your dog had surgery for this condition, would you be good enough to let me know what kind of surgery your Lab had and any other information you think might be helpful to me? Information about cost of surgery would also be helpful if you care to share it. Many thanks... Ben GentleBen1998@gmail.com
Waterhouse Bath and Kitchen Studio A converto rod from Barclay or a round shower curtain rod by Vogue or Samuel Heath would maintain the look and period of the room. Very nice by the way!
The Bath Works, Inc. We have a similar tub that is double ended. A French antique tub called a Clio, it can be supplied with a range of different feet depending upon the originals we find. Alternatively, we do restore American Clawfoot (single ended) tubs too.
thebuilderdepot.com We offer a range of different Hexagon sizes in both honed and polished, the picture attached is a 2" Hexagon for $11.75SF. We also offer a 5" Hexagon for $13.95SF: http://www.thebuilderdepot.com/hexagon-mosaic.html
Hanson General Contracting, Inc. The tub is manufactured by Sunrise Specialty, model #876: 61" mini dual clawfoot tub with continuous rim. Thanks for asking!
Hanson General Contracting, Inc. Yes, I believe we used a glaze that was certainly more green than yellow. But we agree with Motherbear: go with a color that YOU love!
JeniferH kristin, if you look closely, the faucet uses 2 holes. One for the hot water and one for the cold water supplies, not sure what a 3rd hole would be for, unless its for a drain trap control? On the Kohler site under 'wall hung sinks' there is one called Bannon that looks similar, except with a black finish that would need painted. It has 2 holes. You just find a faucet that needs 2 holes, and thats not very hard to do. K-159-3 on the same site (Kohler) is a 2 hole faucet for this type of sink.
length of room (the deep part) - i just bought a house and we have two tiny bathrooms that we want to combine to make one decent size bath. Combining the rooms will lead to a recessed wall space where we want to put the toilet, similar to this batroom (although our space is longer rather than wider so we would probably turn the toilet sideways). i would like to put a tub across from the toilet, like you have, but i am not sure there would be enough space. could you please advise on the length of this bath and what the minimum amount of space would be to have the tub and toilet across from each other like it is here. Thank you very much. »
Please tell me the height of the tile. including the chair rail and baseboard, from the floor up. - I am remodeling a 139 year old, small house in Downtown Boulder, Co. I am planning the same type of look in the Master Bath (with tumbled subway tiles and tumbled chair rail). It will extend around the sink vanity and over to the toilet space, similar to this. I need to know the height, that would be very helpful. Thanks. »
What type of paint and what process did you follow to paint the tub & sink? - I am wondering what type of paint (oil based?) did you use on the sink & tub? Did you spray it or roll it on?
Have you found that it has lasted without peeling/cracking?
Thank you. »
In this case, the clawfoot bathtub and the vintage-style sink match. Their bright color enlivens this otherwise subdued bathroom. "The decision was made by the architect to bring an accent color to complement the white wainscoting and floor tile,” says John Hanson, the principal contractor on this project. "We painted the sink and tub with a semigloss alkyd oil-based paint."
1. Choose classic wall colors. If you need to paint the walls, choose a color from a period-inspired palette. Use fresher, cleaner historic options, such as Benjamin Moore's Palladian Blue, Adams Gold or Georgian Green. I love the way the homeowner painted the undersides of the sink and bathtub in this vintage bathroom. This kind of color placement draws attention to the unique selling points of the home.
7. Bright and playful Philadelphia bathroom. It's amazing what a little color can do. Splashes of citron on the sink and tub and a cheerful blue wall color completely update the traditional style of this bathroom.
