Anita Diaz for Far Above Rubies These are just off the shelf sheers from Walmart, but I unhemed the bottom and the top casing so they would be long enough.
Anita Diaz for Far Above Rubies Although people call all spool beds Jenny Lind, technically not because the Jenny Lind bed would have square corners which the earliest spool beds are. The corners were rounded starting about 1850 as this one is.
sprattliz i just found almost the exact same bed, a jenny lind. problem is its a 3/4 size and i didnt know it so my full bed doesnt fit and i now have to buy a custom mattress. i just wish it was bigger...
Hope you are okay with another question about color.
Are the sheers white? I cannot do them to the floor but was thinking of doing a long valance about 21 inches and start it a few inches above the single windows that flank the bed. It might make the ceiling look taller. Also is the bed covering white or a cream/off white? Thank you again. »
Anita Diaz for Far Above Rubies No, it was just Olive, but came in shades from light to dark with numbers, Olive 1, Olive 2, etc. I had used the olive in another room, but got the Colorplace "Wetlands" for this room as it was so similar. I did notice Walmart had changed their paint colors a bit few weeks ago but most still have a similar name. I will look at both Lowes and Walmart and let you know since it has been a couple years since I painted it. Thanks for asking!
Anita Diaz for Far Above Rubies Hi Pat, I went to Lowes and the similar color is actually Laura Ashley LA909 Olive 3. I have used both, so I hope you can find one of them. Let me know!
Anita Diaz for Far Above Rubies Absolutely! In fact, one of my dressers is mahogany and the red tones are really nice with this color. If you cannot find it, the Ralph Lauren olive is very similar. It comes in varying shades also.
Anita Diaz for Far Above Rubies Hi, the paint color is "Wetlands" Colorplace by Walmart, which is made by Sherwin Williams. It is similar to Ralph Lauren "Olive" which comes in different shade variations. I have used both, and the Colorplace paint was just as good.
Anita Diaz for Far Above Rubies Hi, thanks for your question! This is "vintage tropical." Everything here is antique and several pieces are from Florida. Also the elements of wrought iron combined with the dark wood are reminiscent of Caribbean styles from Puerto Rico and Cuba. The white linens keep it light and cool.
The first possible placement is pushing the head of the bed into the corner. Don’t think of the space between the bed and corner as dead space; use it for decorative accents or a functional addition. In this example, a plant adds height and texture to the space.
would love this as a spare bedroom. love the wooden bed, lace curtains, green wall, wood floor. would prefer more tropical flower print other than the country looking ones.

I love it. never thought of angeling the bed before. Always thought It was a waste of space. The area behind the bed could be used for out of season storage
