The lower tiles are a polished 12x24 porcelain called "Basalt."
We purchased this through CTM in Los Angeles.
The tile is highly polished and has a 3D look to it. Very pretty. Very interesting.
And the best thing of all, the water spots rub right off without major scrubbing.

The fold-down shower seat is part of the Invisia Collection and the wood species is Brazilian Walnut, also known as Ipe. It is a dense tropical hardwood and perfect for this application.

Yes, absolutely the seat must be installed into studs. No doubt.
Many times we will add full backing in the range of shower seats and grab bars for future installation as well. This way, our clients may add a seat or grab bar at a later date without much issue.
I think you will find that all shower seats require installation into a stud (or solid backing) to ensure a safe installation.

You are correct, the Serena Seat has a higher capacity rating which was also a consideration in this project.
I was prepping the home for owner arrival yesterday and snapped this quick photo to show an update 1 year later...still looking great!

cookgirl Thanks for the photo. We'll be installing 2 of the 18 in. seats side by side in a small 4 ft x4 ft. steam shower. It's good to know the wood is so durable.

There is no marble but here are the included materials:
The floor is a natural stone, black quartzite. The client loves the dark color and the uneven texture. We brushed the tiles that were used in the shower in order to provide additional slip co-efficiency.
The lower walls are a polished porcelain basalt, a dark grey high polished tile.
The upper walls are a honed and filled vein-cut silver travertine.
The accent backlit "sun" is a custom artist's cast glass with LED lighting.

If we were to do this all over again, we may have opted for a DalTile porcelain called Era. It comes in a very dark grey/black called Olos and would require much less maintenance than the natural stone. The Era series comes in a polished, matte (unpolished) and structured finish. The matte provides plenty of slip co-efficiency for Universal Design and the structured finish would be excellent for the shower area.
Overall, the natural stone is very nice and the uneven textures are unique and interesting.

That floor drain is by ACO Drains and you may purchase it from a fellow Houzz member, John Whipple of By Any Design LTD. His website is: www.byanydesign.com
He is the premier expert on linear drains, their proper installation and he is the guru when it comes to no curb showers.
We have been buying direct from By Any Design LTD for several years and find John to be an excellent colleague and advisor.
The ACO Drains come in varying sizes. The drain we installed in the curbless shower is 55" x 3" with the Hawaii grille and has the optional Red LED light pack (lights up the drain when the water hits it).
