The firm is responsible for custom home design for a number of homes in the prestigious country club community of Caves Valley.
Designed as the fi rst and only speculative home to be built at the Caves Valley Golf Course Community, this custom stone house utilizes old world materials and craftsmanship inside and out. Although the house has a large footprint, the design creates the illusion of an old manor home that has been added to over the years. Although the site was extremely narrow and had a signifi cant slope, the design of the footprint and surrounding landscape minimizes these conditions.

Could you tell me the mortar color used with the stone? Thank you! »
Penza Bailey Architects We do not have the mortar color mix for that project, as it is a custom blend. It is very important to match the mortar with the actual stones and other materials used for each project, and we always request a sample wall for final approval.
Penza Bailey Architects The columns are 12" Tuscan columns. Since the columns have entasis, the circumference of the column varies between nominally 12" at the bottom and 10" at the top, with a 16" square base. Hope this helps!
Other photos? - Do you have other photos for this house's facade? I'd love to see them and possibly have the architect design our facade. I have a house plan for the interior but am still working on the exterior. Thanks! »
Penza Bailey Architects Sorry I had to do some digging around.
This Baltimore County home was constructed by Jeffrey Blum prior to joining Delbert Adams Construction Group. The stone used for this home came from 2 quarries. About 15 to 20% of the mix came from Butler stone and the balance (including stone lintels) came from Media Quarry Co. in Media Pennsylvania. Square and rectangular stones were worked into something of an ashlar pattern.
4-Like this with only one column on each side. This could also be designed without the arch in the middle. Move gable end forward to prevent water shed issues. Like the slate steps and floor..
