ladingy Thank for your feedback. I have to tell you how impressed I am with the ability to answer the questions and taking the time to answer them! Have a wonderful day!
Dimensions - I have a similar shaped kitchen and I like this idea as we have plumbing in the wall behind the range. Can you tell me the dimensions of this kitchen? »
Am remodeling our long and narrow kitchen and want to open the range wall. - Love this kitchen. Mine has a similar layout. What do you think of switching the range to the window wall and the sink and dishwasher to the existing range location and opening up the top of that wall? Will do a narrow island like yours. Any help and advice would be really appreciated. »
chezron The nice thing about having a sink at the window is you can look out of the window to the green view beyond. Putting the sink against a wall seems sad.
Range location - Looks like the range is tight in corner (left side). Thinking of doing that in my kitchen remodel, but concerned of it being too tight on that side and inconvenient. Thoughts? »
haliulin Thanks. Can you tell me how many countertop inches in that tight corner (not to the wall, but to the corner, looks like no more than 4" which is what i have in my current plan). Again, i have 2 kids who are constantly around the range when i cook, so was concerned that the tight corner would be an issue. Is there a pull-out on the base to the left or is that just a filler panel with know and hinges? If cabinet/pull-out do you have approx size?
Felhandler/ Steeneken Architects No seat at the other end, just cookbook shelves. Can't remember the length off hand, somewhere between 8 ft and 10 ft.
Felhandler/ Steeneken Architects I can't remember however check out antique fixtures from Remains.com or reproduction fixtures from Brass Light Gallery
The counters shown here are glazed stone. Glazed basalt to be precise. they are made from a company in France called Pyrolave, and the color palette they have available is truly unlimited. These counters are about as good as it gets, and they are priced accordingly.Pyrolave counters have all the strength of granite without any of the sealing worries yet they have the appearance of glazed pottery.
