I designed this innovative storage solution with a built-in TV cabinet that swings completely open. This allows stereo equipment, media, etc to hide behind it. It also allowed the TV to be viewed at different angles including outside on the nearby deck. www.IversonSignaturehomes.com

Any cooling issues? - HDTV like any electronic appliances generate heat, it's worse with plasma TV. Did you encounter heat issues from your enclosed TV? Does your design involve a "Chimney" within the wall or did you install cooling fan? Thanks!

Jordan Iverson Signature Homes I've never had an issue with heat from the TV, and it's been on for hours and hours as it's used as the screen for playing media and music as well. There is no cooling fan installed.
There's no chimney within the wall. If you're referring to the fireplace, it's a direct vent gas fireplace that vents straight out the back of the exterior wall.
Here's a little more info about the surrounding cabinets on also. The cabinet to the left is also setup for equipment if needed depending on how much equipment you have. It was also pre-drilled on the left for a small fan install (it was never needed though) which is released through the top of the cabinet next to it.
Jordan Iverson Signature Homes Thanks for the question! It's not for sale at this time as each unit is built custom for each particular space and TV. It is one of the items that I may include for sale on my new interior design & furniture division at some point in the future though. www.Remarque.co is the site. If you're local, I could also have one designed & built for you, but shipping would be quite expensive out of state. I hope this helps!
Jordan Iverson Signature Homes @Imorgen - I have 23" behind the TV when the door is closed, but you typically won't need that much space behind the TV. It all depends on the size of audio equipment being used.
Jordan Iverson Signature Homes @oreo1 good point, that all depends on what equipment ends up being back there. DVD players, etc. wouldn't need any. The cabinet to the left is also setup for equipment if needed depending on how much equipment you have. It was also pre-drilled on the left for a small fan install which is released through the top of the cabinet next to it. The TV cabinet is also on an exterior wall and plans were made to direct vent a fan if at all needed.
...but you would be wrong again. This is pretty slick. The entire TV alcove is hinged to swing open to reveal another spacious storage area behind. Style: The light, natural wood used for the built-ins complements the pale stone and the modern look of the horizontal fireplace. Keeping all of the DVDs hidden creates a minimal look suitable for this room's contemporary style.
