Rhoda Thanks for posting the reply Susan - I just noticed that a question had been posted on this one! We have a really nice balance of skills in our company. My husband Bill has deep structural knowledge having trained as a journeyman carpenter, he built over 100 hillside homes as a carpenter and foreman prior to starting his own company over 20 years ago. Jim, his right hand man used to have his own cabinet company, so we've got in depth cabinetry skills on board. On most projects, Jim designs cabinets for fabrication by our partners to our excacting specifications. For specialty projects, we build them in house in our artisanal shop. Sometimes we do both and sometimes we install cabinetry purchased by designers for their clients (very flexible). Our employees who install cabinets also know how to build them - a really big plus.
For instance, on the following project, we built the island (which could not be done by our partner shops) and another shop built the rest with a lower cost structure (the difference between production and artisanal methods). With this business model, we're able to provide the best price performance for our clients.

In a few weeks, I'll be posting some more fine cabinetry on the houzz!!!
