How far from the wall is the table? I am looking at putting a 118 inch table in a 15ft long room. I will only have about 3 feet from table to the wall and am trying to think if that will be okay. THis looks about that... »
Cynthia Taylor-Luce Ideally you would not put chairs at the ends of the table, which will allow more circulation space and not look so squeezed. If you don't entertain large numbers of people very often, I would recommend a shorter table that would have hidden extensions for special occasions.
bananamamma To figure it out for yourself, make a template out of paper of the size of your table. Then use your chairs around it and you'll see if it will work or not. Also, if you have space, keep your end chairs elsewhere when you're not using them, thus providing the circulation you may need.
Alicia Friedmann Interior Design Thank you ysdesignblog for commenting, but I used Dunn-Edwards Paint on this job. One thing to remember is paint looks different in each environment (and in each photograph), so I always recommend sampling up colors before "going for it." What city are you located in? I could always help find you a professional in your area for a color consultation.
In this space, dark wood shelves make a nice contrast against a crisp blue wall color.
TIP: Rooms that face south can feel very warm because they receive sunlight all day long. Light blue or green walls are a great way to cool down rooms with a southern exposure.
