Quezada Architecture The wood is 6" t&g redwood with a 1/4" v groove and we used something called TWP (total wood protection) which is a pentrating sealer. For the longest time we used clear with no color in it but after my husband had to seal the south side (which is the side shown in the photo) for the 5th time in one summer, we gave in and added some color to the sealer so that it only needs to be refinished every few years. Yes... our contractor was amazing mitering all of the corners but he asked that we get an on-site shrink as he was afraid he was going to lose his mind midway through the process. Hope that helps.
