90paula2 I'd say it depends on what you want to do with your room in the future, the size of your room and what elements (bed, book case, drawer, tv, etc.) you have in your room. If you want to have purple walls, I'd say go with a lavender shade. The vary from a more pinkish tone to a very lilac one. If you do gymnastics or dance competitions and got trophies find a nice spot for them. Also look in the future and ask yourself if your family will help you if you're getting sick of the color (that happend to me). If not than maybe just paint one wall purple and the other ones maybe eggshell white (a normal white may seem really cold". Then you can hang posters, pictures, etc. depending how your interests change.
If you could give out a little more information about the size and shape of you room, how you want to arrange the furniture, etc. that would really help. :)
I'm really interested in interior design and when I was 11 I had my room pink and purple and now I'm almost 16 and my room's all white and bright 'cause I got sick of my room about 2 years ago.
I added samples of different shades of lavender. I hope I could help you a little bit :)
SPKCreative Abstract Art www.spkcreative.com Orchid or violet are lovely shades of purple as well. If you go pink, go bright with fuchsia or very pale like Essie Ballet Slippers nail polish (bring the bottle to a paint store and custom match the paint; you can do this with pretty much anything). Gray-, pink- or purple based white or cream, gray or silver will compliment both pink and purple. You can paint the ceiling pink or purple and everything else white, cream or gray. A soft ombre of pink with white or purple with gray would be different. Another option is to paint the walls, ceiling and trim in one color, then apply purple, pink or silver glitter mixed with a clear sealant over the trim and/or ceiling. You can buy or have an adult build bookcases to showcase your trophies and awards along with your books and stuff; add lights in the shelves for added flair. If you have wood floors, add a floor length mirror and a barre so you can dance whenever you want or pretend practicing on the balance beam. White, silver or mirrored furniture are fun choices that will also work for you when you're Paula's age; look at Horchow, PBTeen, Crate & Barrel or CB2 for furniture. If your ceiling is high enough, get a crystal chandelier from Pottery Barn or YLighting. You can display some of your favorite costumes from dance and/or gymnastics in shadow boxes. Have fun:)
The customized wall-to-wall shelving unit is the pièce de résistance of the living room; the varied orientations of the cubbies have a puzzle-like effect and provide visual interest to the room. The stairs maximize the clients' living and common areas — always a priority in space-hungry Hong Kong, even in Yuen Long. "We designed the interesting unit with a purpose: We needed a feature wall to link the living area, dining area and open kitchen. It's interesting to see how the color and choice of what is displayed actually enriches the white-tinted wood feature wall," says Ho.
