svelotas yes you have to seal it with primer first. Kilz is a good brand to use. then paint it so knots wont bleed thru

Dungan Nequette Architects It depends on if you want the grain to show through or completely cover it. If you want it completely covered, sand it, prime it with Kilz (twice), and then paint. It you want some of the grain to show, look into milk paint.

Dungan Nequette Architects well just to clarify this aint T-111 its old knotty pine and most of it was already there (it was a renovation) so i would recommend you consider putting up some furring strips and then tongue and groove boards in lieu of the t111. if that doesnt fit your budget and t111 is in your future then ask for smooth kind and if that doesnt exist, sand it down some and get rid of what i call "wet dog fur" effect
