The manufacturer would make an "island hood" , which would be shaped like the front of this fan, only "all the way around". The one in the picture is flat at the back, to facilitate mounting against a wall.

Anne DeCocco This is just a square tile set on the diagonal and grouted with a contrasting color. Any tile store should be able to help you create this look easily. It's beautiful and a class and brings a nice sparkle to this space!
