However, the rain collector boxes at the top of the downspouts are raw copper, which develops a natural dark patina over a few months. All copper gutters and downspouts tend to grow legs after installation (theft), so we only use them sparingly. Very expensive to install (& replace!)

rbcola I worried about that as I've heard that about anything copper these days!!! Who needs to deal with that issue. Thanks for the quick response and the realistic advice!!! The materials on this home are One of my favorites. Just lovely.

What makes the stain so good is it had no varnish in the liquid (unlike Minwax), so you can better control the final color & depth. The website is www.mohawk-finishing.com.
