This may be a bit extravagant, not sure, but if doable this would be sweet for the doggies! An outdoor dog/kid shower (with hot water) that is by the doggie door into the mudroom, would be great for dogs to have their own door separate from the human door. It could even just be a hose that had warm water option, nothing fancy.

Very cool idea, not sure what the pups might get themselves into that they may need to be rinsed off before coming in the house. Kids too for that matter!
