Under top bunk - Hi, I really like the room but was wondering would there be space underneath the top bunk to put a desk or a chest of drawers??
Thanks »
Kraig Kalashian It's about 4'6 to the bottom of the top bunk, so there would definitely be room for a dresser. Don't know about a desk, but if it was for a child, it may work, depending on the age and height of the child.
Kraig Kalashian I believe the 3M hooks are pretty sturdy, although I guess it would depend on the weight of the mirror. Consult the package of the specific hook and it will give you the max weight.
Kraig Kalashian Funny question! I actually stretch the sheets against the back wall and then climb down and pull the front tight. It's not that hard when you get used to it! Thanks for the question.
Kraig Kalashian All the materials (not including mattresses) will cost about $400. Labor to build will range anywhere from $2K-$5K depending on where you live.
Kraig Kalashian Sorry for the late reply! These are 8' ceilings and each best totals about 4' high with the platform (4") mattress (8") and then 3' of space above each, Both beds are queen size. thanks for following!
Where would i be able to create a room like this ? - I love the desgin of this bedroom. It would be nice for my two daughters but how would i be able to create a room like this for them ? »
Kraig Kalashian I guess it depends where you live and how handy you are! The whole thing is made from regular wood studs and plywood. I would be more than happy to help you through it or find a local handyman and get you some drawings. You can e-mail me through my web site at www.kalashian.com
Kraig Kalashian So sorry for the delayed response. The total height of the ceiling above the beds is 9'. Each bed sits on a 4" platform and the lower bed has an additional 4" base. The height above each bed is 4 feet. The wall color is a Valspar paint from Lowe's called Oregon Coast. The beds are both queen size which does make a nice room for older kids. Thanks for all the great feedback!
This sophisticated sleeping space by Kraig Kalashian has the bunk beds built in. A low-slung bottom bunk gives the upper bunk some breathing room, while built-in nooks act as bedside tables.

build bunks into Lillia's room regardless of what we do with other spaces? It could be storage initially with no ladder so she can't access it without supervision, but later could be a great place for sleepovers or privacy, etc.
