Did you replace outside cabinet hinges with inside hinges? - We painted our oak cabinets and I don't like the outside door mounts. They are so dated. Did you find some that mount on the inside, and if so, what are they called? »
Creative Cabinets and Faux Finishes. LLC In this case no we didn't replace. European hinges area great we replace them all the time. You'll need to bore holes in the backs of the doors.

Is the cooktop downdraft? (Doesn't look like it) Do you have to have a hood, if it's in an island? - Trying to decide if I want a hood or keep my downdraft in my island. »
Creative Cabinets and Faux Finishes. LLC cost varies - depends where you live - there is a lot that goes into refinishing properly so expect to pay for it. You need to use the right products - not latex or oil - and they need to be sprayed and topcoated. Be careful there are a lot of paint company's out there that paint cabinets - but refinishing is another story.
whertyk Can you paint laminate cabinets. I have the exact cabinets in our new home but they are an ugly tan wood color. I'd love to paint them a nice sage green or cream. Is it doable?
countertop - gorgeous kitchen, gorgeous countertop.
I'd like to know what material was used for the countertop please.
looks like granite ...
Thank you »
I have dark red oak cabinets that are in excellent shape. I like the look of honey maple color with glaze. We don't want to paint the cabinets, but is there a way to put a glaze over the existing finish to change the look? I realize the grain of the wood is different. »
Creative Cabinets and Faux Finishes. LLC To go lighter is very tough. Need to hire a refinishing company. Needs to be stripped, stained, glazed, sealed and polyurathane. You can however add glaze to your cabinets no problem. I'd just to the crevices or they will be darker. Good luck! Jenna hill, manager ccfauxfinishes finishes.
Creative Cabinets and Faux Finishes. LLC Yes you can add glaze to the crevices very easily - just make sure you have the correct polyurathane inside the glaze so it dries to a hard finish and doesn't wipe off when you wash your cabinets.
Cabinet Refinishing - Hello,
I am working with a similar situation for a client who has red oak kitchen cabinets, which are currently a light 'maple' shade. Diluted white paint was added to the stain to create a muted look. It does hide the grain quite a bit.
We want to paint the cabinets off-white and then add brown glaze. Did you have this cabinetry done on site, or were they sprayed in a shop? Can you suggest what type of paint I should use, and the process to
paint/glaze. I would really appreciate it. »
I like everything about this kitchen with the exception of the color of the appliances. I'm not a big fain of stainless steel...they always show streak marks. I prefer black.

We don't want an island that is taken up by just stove top. Want small sink, prep space and room for 4 to comfortably sit at also. Like the mouldings above and blow uppers. Like the lighting under the uppers.
