A Seamless Integration of the kitchen the dining room
The semi-open kitchen with a sliding-glass panel offers the flexibility to extend the kitchen into the dining area, offering a more spacious party area to entertain friends and family. One can enjoy the view of lush greenery whether cooking or dining. The kitchen countertop serves as a spacious worktop, while creating a perfect bar area to enjoy a drink or two. Simply close the sliding glass to seal off the kitchen.
Simple yet stylish bar stools add to the modernity of the kitchen area and create a perfect bar table for enjoyment.
Lighting plays an important part to enhance the overall ambience. Ceiling light troughs create a visual illusion of a higher ceiling, while light troughs above the countertop serves as a practical task light for food preparation.

Love the cabinets - what is the light color on the solid cabinets? Rattan? - Did you design the cabinets yourself? Or did your client already own them? »
Clifton Leung Design Workshop Hi, thanks for your question.
The cabinets in the dining area - the taller one in the middle is bought from an antique store called Beijing Antiques Shop in Horizon Plaza in Ap Lei Chau. It is a reproduction piece, not an antique.
The two smaller side cabinets in the dining area - are bespoke, custom-made pieces, also by Joineur and made out of rosewood. These were made after the owner got the taller cabinet, so the carpenter from Joineur actually came to the place to view the taller cabinet to do some colour-matching of the wood, so that the owner can get the colour of the side cabinets just right.
The cabinets in the dining area are a mix of bespoke Oriental and reproduced pieces. The middle bar cabinet, a replica of an original rosewood, was sourced from the Beijing Antiques Shop in Hong Kong. The two medium-size wardrobe cabinets flanking it are custom-made rosewood pieces from Joineur, a shop specializing in joinery furniture with a preference for high-density woods such as rosewood and black ebony.
