robert kelly This is slate from "American Slate" in San Pablo, CA I believe this one is "Tidal Storm" finish. Slate looks good and wears well. It chips easily though.

Grey up the wood in this one a bit, get rid of the "busy" lower cabinet doors, add glass in the upper ones, lower and enlarge the windows over the sink, and we're good to go.

Yes! This is the blend of materials I want...just tweak the wall color and grey up the wood a bit...eliminate the fussy cross hatch detail on the lower cabinets...
