How to hide Water connection box - I am building right now and was planning on having my laundry room configured like this. My washer/dryer is 36 high and was planning on running the counter over. Only problem is now, the code for my plumber has the water connection box over the counter height. I was going to put the bottom of the counter at 38 to give a little room between top of appliances and the counter. Any suggestions or solutions for this situation? »
Abbott Moon I'm pretty sure the gray box is exposed in this laundry room. It's behind the washer on the far right so you can't see it in the photo. There's no way around the code for keeping it visible, in my experience. Good luck! --Murphy Moon
Abbott Moon Caesarstone "Rosemary" honed countertop. They no longer sell this color in the honed finish. Thanks for your appreciation. With the polished concrete floor (stained to match the countertop) the room really has a lovely presence.
I'm putting in a top floor laundry room right now and my space is extremely tight. I have a sink cabinet of 24", then washer and dryer at 27" each, and 2" left in total to spare. I need to put a counter overtop of the washer and dryer, and am wondering how is the best way to do that while using the least amount of space. And should I have the washer and dryer 1" apart? If so that means I only have 1" of space left to put in supports for my counter. Lastly, I want my sink to be level with the counter (it's a stainless sink that covers the whole top of the 24" cabinet base), but that means I have to raise it up to 40", which seems REALLY high! Is that normal for a laundry sink in this type of scenario?
I would appreciate any advice. Thanks,

Wendy Cotter Too late for that, mimimichel. We already have the floor installed and tiled. But two plumbers both independently said that the leak is usually in the hoses, almost never in the machine itself, in which case a pan wouldn't help anyway, and I'm considering switching to stainless steel pipes to avoid this possible problem.
I'm thinking 1 inch apart for the rattle, if the washing machine is moving at all.
cadsaxl My front loader washer likes to move so I would definitely see about some type of sticky/friction type product to help it stay put! Also, perhaps you can secure the counter with adjacent wall- attached type of " lip" that counter rests on, rather than vertical supports. Maybe that would save an inch. Good luck!
Kerrie L. Kelly Concrete or tile is the best type of laundry room floor in my opinion. I do not like the look or feel of vinyl or laminate, but they would work too. Whatever material you use, keep in mind this is potentially a wet area.
do you know how they got the washer and dryer so close to the wall with all the water supply and dryer hoses to accommodate?
Did they make the countertop deeper? Maybe higher too?
Thank you so much »
riversu It seems like you need a good 4" in back to for hoses and drain for washing machine, I am not understanding how the drain pipe can be behind it, is high enough to avoid suction and still have room for washer to fit?

Ideal layout...obviously no window, wall cabs instead. Building the wall with doorway...when through doorway, you'll see glass shower to the left. Toilet either right in front of you or to the right. and vanity right in front of you or to the right.
Love the fact that the utility sink is just to the side of the washer for convenience and that the washer dryer are located on an exterior wall, venting straight to the outside not through a crawl space, basement, or up through an attic as I have experienced before. Vent short sweet safer and easier to clean.
