Hats are a wonderful item to collect that won't break the bank. They are so pefect framing out the mirror above the chest. I can just picture someone choosing a hat, and arranging it just so in the mirror as they are heading out the door.

What about the friends and family who come calling via the front door? A patterned rug will work well for catching whatever gets tracked in, and the busy pattern will help hide a multitude of muddy sins.

The entry has always been a natural place to display hats since you can grab one as you're headed out the door. Hang them around a mirror and the look is totally charming.

When planning the size and swing of doors, think about how each door will affect the space around it. Some doors stay open more than closed. Will it land against a wall where you want to place furniture? The closet pictured has double doors because a single door would have swung into a walkway.
