I think that even with the windows and skylights the room looks too dark. I'd paint the blue wall white, get lighter countertops, a lighter table and chairs, whitewash the floor, and change out the dark pictures and books. Wait! Then it wouldn't be the same room! But then I'd like it.

Open plan kitchen beside seating area with books and fireplace. Like bar stools. drawers on island. Generally I don't really like square islands, although it works in this nice compact kitchen. Fits in everything we would need.
