blindsdirectcanada These are Sheer weave blinds ( also known as screen shades). They are installed backwards so that the roll of the blind is not exposed. In theses particular windows as you can see there are mullions between each window so you have such a large gap. However in a regular window they make special brackets called dual link which if your windows are perfectly straight should make the gap half inch at best.

Rebekah Zaveloff Typically tables are 29"-31" tall and benches and chairs are 18" - that's a good rule of thumb to go by.

chesternester Most companies make blinds that can be lowered from the top of the window down. This way you can have light coming in from the upper part of the window but still have privacy. I bought some from a home improvement center for my master bathroom.
