Black Tusk Development Group Ltd. Hello. The wood is roasted maple, which is simply maple that has been roasted in a kiln. Sounds better then burnt maple.There is no stain on the wood, just a clear coat finish. The wood is spectacular in person with plenty of grain and colour variation. The roasting goes all the way through the wood so it can be milled to whatever shape and still have a consistant finish. Cheers.
