pamdeg Hi. I had a question about the Deltana pulls. I noticed that you used 2 different sizes of pulls- but the rounded pulls from Deltana only come in a 6" size. What did you use for the smaller pulls? Are they the squared off version that is smaller than the 6"? thx so much!
Cabinet paint color - Hi Rebekah, I'm a huge fan of this kitchen and your work in general. I'm hoping you could tell me what paint color and brand you used for the cabinets. I'm also curious what type of "freezer box" hardware you used on the cabinets above the fridge and in the laundry/pantry room. Im remodeling my kitchen at the moment and looking to incorporate these ideas. Thanks! »
Rebekah Zaveloff Thanks so much for the kind words. They're from an unusual source - autohardware.com. They're stainless steel strap hinges. They have a few options. The paint color for the cabinets is a custom ivory with a glaze, it doesn't translate to any specific paint color, sorry.
Marble kitchen edge - We are looking at putting a Calcutta marble counter on our kitchen counters. It's a 2cm I was told they were going to put a "laminated edge" to make it look thicker. What does that mean? Is it still all marble? »
Annie Thornton You can also apply a grout colorant to new or old grout to change its color. It is basically a stain for grout and you can choose from a variety of colors.
gingerger You mentioned a grout colorant and I'm wondering your experience with it? I recently put in a new bath with white subway tile and the contractor used a taupe grout. I wanted a pure white look and am so unhappy with it. I'm exploring grout stain but don't know anyone who has used it. Any feedback would be helpful.
Who is the cabinet manufacturer? - I love your kitchen design, Rebekah. I'm using it as my inspiration for my kitchen remodel. It's fantastic! Just wanted to know the cabinet manufacturer. »
How is the marine edge constructed? How was your fabricator able to hide the transition line? I'm obsessed with the look of it, but it seems to be a really rare edge and my fabricator is having trouble figuring out how it's made!
Many thanks! »
White kitchens need some gentle color to keep them from appearing to be too sterile. The darker grout color used with this tile eases the transitions between the darker woodwork, appliances and light fixtures. This white kitchen looks more welcoming and that's partially as a result of the grout color used on the walls.
Marine edge. This is profile is more often seen on stainless steel countertops. It's a built-up thickness, but rather than mitered, the outside edge is raised. I'm assuming the term "marine edge" refers to how this detail keeps liquids from running off the countertop.
Consider glass-fronted cabinetry. If you’re thinking about replacing your cabinets, you may want to consider glass-fronted cabinetry. It will turn your dishware into a display, and help the space feel more open and airy.

Marine edge on counter edges of island. Keeps liquids from running off onto the floor. Do a special edge in the island and a standard square edge on the exterior wall counters
