The Chabres wanted to increase their kitchen space, connect the living and family room with the kitchen and take advantage of the fabulous view they have of the foothills all while keeping the modern design of their existing architecture.

What is the island countertop material/name, please. Thank you. »
This kitchen takes the view from the window wall and the clerestory above and runs with it. The header over the door lines up with the mountain in the distance and introduces a point of reference. The kitchen wall cabinets follow that same line and bring a sense of scale to what could be an overwhelming space. Brilliant!
A cluster of Fucsia Pendants cascades down from the recess in the ceiling. They become an extension of the light and glass of the transom windows above.
This is the Fucsia 8 Pendant. Karla Rodriguez of HartmanBaldwin Design/Build explains "once it was installed we played with the lengths of the pendants to better mimic a fuller chandelier effect and also to help the eye move upwards toward the skylight."
That a whole lot of tan...however the design a fabulous for an oddly shaped space. And I LOVE the shelves over the cabinets, wonderful option for decorations
Interesting; light cabs, fun bar w/room for numerous chairs. Wine cooler. If we don't have room for pantry we need to put one somewhere in cabinets like this bar.
