Centsational Girl Everything is collected over time Danielle, the mirror was a floor sample at Lamps Plus two years ago, the chairs were a Joss & Main score from last fall, and the rug was found on clearance at Pier One last year. I can't give you a total off the top of my head, but I'm always making sensible stylish purchases that fit within my budget at the time. :)
Centsational Girl I found that transitional rug at World Market last year on clearance, sadly they don't offer it anymore. I don't have the tag, so I'm not sure of the name. :(
Pick your approach. There are three basic ways to approach decorating on a budget:1. Splurge on one piece at a time. Even if if means living with a sparsely furnished pad for some time, you can feel good that you love everything in your home.2. Get it all done at once using affordable basics and DIY projects. This is a good option for those starting from scratch.3. Mix it up. If this is your approach, you will likely want to splurge on one or two special pieces and fill in the gaps with less expensive new and vintage finds.
Dark woods or metallic tones are so often a go-to choice for frames. Against a colored wall, white frames can make just as big a statement while looking fresh and modern.
Light Gray on the WallsTranquility, in Benjamin Moore's Affinity palette, sets off the white trim and wainscoting in this feminine and traditional room. Bright white and light gray often have a sort of ethereal and romantic look together.
Again, adding white to your mantel - very clean - 1 color, you can easily paint the mirror frame WHITE still with the silver accents, add back in the mirror that fell out to get a similar feel to the above! 1 statement adding pillows and a throw in shades of white white or creme to lighten the room w/o purchasing any more than white accessories from Homegoods!

In our living room is Benjamin Moore’s Affinity ’Tranquilty’ but I had the guys at the BM store tweak it by pulling two drops of blue out of the formula to make it a hint grayer, so we dubbed it ‘Tranquility Tweaked’.Here’s the formula for the Ben brand (which I love because it covers in one coat!)S1 0x 3.0000; Y2 1x 1.5000; B1 0x 20.0000; O1 0x 19.0000Here are three closest color matches to my custom formula: ‘Portico’ by Valspar, ‘Sea Salt’ by Sherwin Williams, and ‘Chicken Wire’ by True Value. .
