HartmanBaldwin Design/Build Yes, it is recessed, since this was a new master bedroom addition we incorporated this TV into the design.

I do not like a television above a fireplace; it is too high to comfortably watch. I prefer a television that can be hidden in furniture or behind a wall. When we want to see it, then it can be uncovered, brought forward and oserved.

This panel is beautifully framed above the fireplace but the tough thing about hanging high is that it's not really optimal for viewing. You almost always have to be inclined to enjoy it.
