Stephanie Wiley Photography Unfortunately, that is a problem with this type of scenario. The couch that is on the same wall as the arched window has a console table behind it, so the lamp wire isn't a problem on that side. The couch on the opposite side does have space behind it and therefore the lamp could be a problem. I suppose the options would be to place another console table behind that couch as well, or to take out that lamp altogether and rely only on the overhead lighting. If you could somehow block that 'walkway' with a small table, baskets, plants, etc., it could still work without the fear of someone tripping on the cord.
This is a most pleasant room. And though I don't care for chevron patterns such as the rug, the black and white balance adds exactly the right punch to the room.
