Mueller Nicholls Cabinets and Construction Thanks for your interest. There are actually two species of wood. Both are veneers over an mdf core. The lighter wood on the upper cabinets is quartered, non-figured eucalyptus. The darker wood on the lower cabinets is quartered, non-figured walnut. This awesome kitchen was designed Applegate-Tran interiors, out of San Francisco. We made the cabinets. It was a great project!
