Jenni Leasia Design That is an excellent question. Yes there is. Code requires many outlets in a kitchen now. If you really don't want them in a wall there are pop up (or retractable) outlets that rise up out of the countertop. We actually used two pop up outlets on the island in this same kitchen.

I'm interested in how the wood is being used. It doesn't look like it's rift-cut or book-matched, but manages not to look too busy/messy, i.e., still modern/neat-looking. How was this achieved? What is the thought behind the way the grain is oriented? Is it horizontal on drawer fronts and vertical on door fronts? (Trying to get this modern look but not sure what to ask for.) »
I am interested in the cabinetry. The cherry in this picture gives a modern feel without being the typical dark cherry color. I would love to know what color stain was used. The color of the wood looks to be a medium cherry color but I would appreciate the knowing the stain color and if there was a color in the clear coating. Thank you for all you help. »
Better example for us give our "low" ceilings (just 8'); also like the cabinets in general - just not the twin tower things next to the range, not a fan of that.
