By using multiple textures, the overwhelming wall of brick was softened and integrated into the space. Note the live edge on the slab of elm, the yarn-like texture in the glass, the perforated stainless steel panels in many doors, and the 1"-square glass tiles in the backsplash. The Hi-Definition laminate also has a textured face. The pattern in the floor tile relates to the hardwood flooring in the adjacent rooms. The island top is Richlite.

are some of the cabinets laminate? What about counter top? »
Northman Marble & Granite Richard, what supplier did you go through to get the elm? Was it pre-cut or custom-fabricated? We offer wood/butcher block tops but this piece is beautiful! We're currently trying to offer more sustainable and recycled products, having something like this would be amazing. Any details would be appreciated.
olldbobbi Debra, you can usually get a closeup of any picture by holding down the control key and the + at the same time. To reduce it back to normal, control and -. I tried it on this pic and it worked.
