Marti Diaz just bought a resale house that has maple floors which has some cupping, therefore I want to sand them and restain them. I understand that there are issues with refinishing maple floors. I am at a dilemma as to just leave them alone or hire a professional which share these concerns as well. Did you refinish your floors and have success?

Eutree Wide Plank Flooring Sanding a cupped floor is not advisable. First figure out the reason for cupping, then typically replace those boards. Your installer can lead you through the process. If those boards "un cup" which they can then your floor will look strange.
