Gustavson Dundes Those are copper snow cleats to hold the snow in place. Here they are just for show as they are usually placed on a slate roof and this roof is asphalt.

We like this design a lot! It just needs a covered sitting porch on the right side. This is really good. It's also made us think that maybe we should consider a 2nd floor room as well.
