mrmitchell347 I recognize the vanity because I own 2 of the same thing. It is from Ethan Allen. I'm not sure how long ago I purchased them, but it was in the last 8-10 years.
mablet I'm interested in getting a piece of furniture lacquered. Is there someway for me to find a professional who does this in my area? Is it too hard for a DIY?
Cynthia Mason Interiors A painter skilled in specialty finishes is your best bet for lacquer work. I personally would not recommend as a DIY project. Good luck!
Cynthia Mason Interiors I had the lacquer custom mixed to match the silk on the relaxed Roman shade. Most paint stores can custom color match for you. Thanks for visiting!
Bathroom vanity. You don’t need a super fancy vanity if you have a can of high-gloss paint nearby. The paint itself will make it both fancy and timeless.
The type of primer is very important. Oil-based primer for oil paints. And latex primer for latex paints. Oil is recommended for wet environments such as a bathroom to resist mold. I like the idea of using an antique style dresser as a bathroom vanity. Paint it to match the wallpaper and drapery.
Turn a dresser into a sink vanity. I've seen this design concept many times, and I'll never tire of it. If I ever own a home, I definitely want to scout out a beautiful dresser to turn into my very own one-of-a-kind bathroom sink. TIP: You'll need a vessel sink to pair with your low dresser to turn it into a sink vanity.
This old dresser got a coat of paint (it looks like it may have been professionally sprayed to get that lacquer look) and became the perfect vanity. If you go this route, know that you will lose a lot of drawer space for plumbing.
Love the colour and shape of the chest of drawers. The soft shapes of the mirror and bow front of the chest and the wallpaper with hints of a contrasting orange. Very nice and works well being a powder room. A very dramatic statement. love the glass handles too. I have learned to really appreciate the softness of teals with their green/blue/grey mixture. It is a range of colours one can easily live with and very easy to bring in other colour hints such as yellows, orange and ocean green/blues. I love this room.
