The homeowners of this Georgian style home wanted a new kitchen to better fit their needs and use of space. As a stay at home mom, the most important feature for her was a well-designed new Island which could accommodate casual seating for her 3 kids watching her prepare the meals. Also, the island had to be a place where they could eat, have good conversations about their sports games, and do homework. However, the owners still wanted a separate eating area to be incorporated into the new layout for a family heirloom antique table and chairs. With their busy lifestyles they were also looking to have a desk area in the kitchen to function as a resource center for internet access and mail.
