Bette I used decoupage goo. I wiped it on the board the folded the map in half. I applied the folded map onto the wet board, and unfolded the remaining part onto the board. I spent a lot of time burnishing. While it was still drying, but able to handle (the goo isn't on the top surface of the map, yet. I took an awl (pointy thing) and poked from front to back. The torn part went thru the hole that still had goo on it. That part stuck to the thickness of the board. Then I covered the surface with decoupage material for durability.
