Kikuchi & Associates The shininess is actually due to our photographer's preference to "wet down" paving before taking a photograph! I would recommend sealing stone paving with a "penetrating sealer" which does not result in shininess nor cause it to become slippery. Most shiney sealers do result in an increase in slipperiness as they hold water on their surface. Penetrating sealers maintain the grip of the surface. They do need to be re-applied every 3-4 years however.
Kikuchi & Associates The stone is Arizona Sandstone, which comes in various color shades and tones. This particular stone color is called "Buckskin", which has variations in shade within that color range. It is always best to inspect the shipment or "lot" of stone you purchase, as there can be inconsistent variations within.
